McMaster-Carr...Classy Outfit.

Post by Fawteen » Thu Sep 04, 2014 4:13 pm

I "discovered" M-C when I worked at the fish squishery.

Since then, I make one or two small orders a year. It's got to be more of a pain in the ass than it's worth for them, but they treat me just like I was a Big Time Operator.

Ordered some stuff from them last week, and somehow got off a line on the part number and ordered some vinyl caps (going to use them as bearing caps on the trike) that are one size too small.

Emailed them asking whether I should return them or if the shipping and restocking fees would negate any advantage to that.

Got a note right back: "Keep them with our compliments, we'll credit your card."

I fully expected to hear "You pay return shipping and 20% restocking fee" and would have been perfectly happy with that, and just kept them and called it a lesson learned.

Reordered the right ones this time.

What do you mean I can't do that?
